Two men found with housebreaking implements

Two men arrested in known crime hotspot.

While they were on a recent night patrol, in a known housebreaking hotspot, in Sunnyridge, officers from the Primrose police noticed two men carrying a bag.

The officers stopped them and asked to search the bag.

During the search a crowbar, padlock, pair of gloves, black beanie and two silver spanners were found.

The two men were questioned but could not give a clear explanation as to what the items were for or what they were doing in the area, as both men reside in Hillbrow.

“The officers believe that the two men intended to use the tools to break into a nearby home,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The accused, aged 19 and 26, were arrested for possession of housebreaking implements and transported to the Primrose Police Station.
