Local talent showcased at Laerskool Die President

Local artist showcase their work, as well as, offering helpful insight to future artists.

Laerskool Die President hosted a successful cheese and wine gala evening, for their art exhibition, last Saturday.

The event, held in the school hall, saw well-known South African artists displaying their work.

Artists in attendance included Steve Strauss, Mariska Meyer, Joe Joubert and Daniel Mc Donald.

In addition to displaying their own work, the artists critiqued the art work of the school’s students.

Together they decided on three winning works of art from each grade.

  • Grade R: Anushka Swanepoel (first), Tyghrn Kieser (second) and Hannelie Kotze (third).
  •  Grade One: Luyanda Gunguluza (first), Ilse van der Merwe (second) and Alexis Dorney (third).
  •  Grade Two: Kohan Nel (first) , Tiaan Erasmus (second) and Jody Zerle (third).
  •  Grade Three: Marne Swart (first), Alexa van der Merwe (second) and Julieane van Niekerk (third).
  • Grade Four: Mickayla Ehlers (first), Llewellyn Brits (second) and Ewald Jansen van Rensburg (third).
  •  Grade Five: Lowell Bezuidenhout (first), Julian Kruger (second) and Liana Haefele (third).
  • Grade Six: Monique Dembskey (first), Xené Fowlds (second) and Declan Jacobs (third).
  • Grade Seven: Keanu Swanepoel (first), Kayla Potgieter (second) and Ronan Jacobs (third).

The evening was enjoyed by all who attended.
