There is still a high risk of load shedding – says Eskom

The power system is stable and no load shedding is currently taking place, however, the risk remains.

Over the past 39 days Eskom has only implemented two hours and 20 minutes of load shedding.

“As this was stage one load shedding, 96 per cent of South Africans still had uninterrupted electricity supply,” said Eskom in a statement.

The power system is stable and no load shedding is currently taking place.

However, the risk remains high as the company is operating on a very constrained system made more vulnerable with unplanned events like breakages or sudden increases in electricity demand.

Eskom will continue to provide regular updates on the status of the power system through all the media platforms.
