Security guard stops would-be thieves

Three employers allegedly steal company gate.

Officers from the Primrose police were recently called to a Kraft Road business by the company’s security guard.

When officers arrived, the guard explained that three of the company’s employees, aged between 24 and 38 years old, had attempted to steal a company gate valued at R5 000.

“He stopped the three men, who were carrying the gate out of the property and into the street, and asked them where they were taking it,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

“They could not explain why they had the gate or where they were planning on taking it.”

The men were arrested and charged with theft.

They have since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where the case was postponed for trial.
