Primrose police crack down on crime

Forty suspects arrested in Primrose for various crimes.

The Primrose police continue to crack down on crime in the area, with the arrest of 40 suspects.

The arrests were made from August 31 to September 6 and included the following charges:

  •  Possession of drugs: 4
  •  Dealing in drugs: 1
  •  Housebreaking and theft: 1
  •  Theft: 4
  •  Rape: 1
  •  Contempt of court: 1
  •  Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 4
  •  Assault common: 3
  •  Illegal immigrants: 21

The Primrose SAPS station commander, Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo, thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.

Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela, for deportation.
