Woman opens case against her sibling

Woman arrested for stealing sister’s TV.

A Primrose woman recently opened a case of housebreaking and theft against her 31-year-old sister.

The case was opened at the Primrose Police Station after the woman received a call from her neighbour, while she was on holiday in Natal, claiming that her sister had been in her house.

“She was surprised by this, because she explained that she had not given her sister keys to her house,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The complainant alleged that she phoned her sister and asked her how she got into her house and what she was doing there.

“Her sister could not explain why she was in the house,” Maome said.

Concerned, the woman decided to cut short her trip and return home.

Upon her arrival she discovered that her TV set was missing.

She confronted her sister who confessed to taking the TV.

The victim gave the accused an opportunity to return the TV but she refused.

The case was then opened and the sister was arrested on charges of housebreaking and theft.

She has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where her case was postponed for plea and trial.
