Two men arrested for housebreaking

Alleged thieves access house through window.

A Primrose home owner recently opened a case of housebreaking and theft with the Primrose police, after discovering that his house had been robbed.

The man was alerted to the crime by a neighbour, who called him and reportedly told him that his house had been broken into.

He rushed to his Acacia Road home and found that a blue generator, a gate motor and jewellery were missing.

“It is alleged that the burglars gained access to the home through a bedroom window,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“The docket was handed over to the Primrose police’s housebreaking and theft task team.”

The team followed several leads and traced a 30-year-old man, who was in possession of the stolen gate motor.

“He then led the task team to another 30-year-old man, who had allegedly given him the gate motor,” Maome said.

Both were arrested and charged with housebreaking and theft.

They were detained at the Primrose Police Station, pending their appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.

Commander of the Primrose Police Station, Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo, thanked the task team members for their hard work and urged other detectives to learn from them.
