Man arrested for selling dagga

Dagga found in local tuck shop.

During a foot patrol in the Marathon informal settlement, officers from the Primrose Police Station arrested a 27-year-old man who was charged with dealing in dagga.

“Patrolling officers noticed a man buying something from the accused at a local tuck shop,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“When the man saw the officers he ran away.

“Unable to catch-up with him, the officers returned to the tuck shop and asked to search the property.”

During the search, 41 packets of wrapped dagga and money were found hidden in a bucket.

The man at the tuck shop was arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station, pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
