Three months for collection

Local resident complains about the metro’s response.

Primrose complex caretaker Johan le Roux has had endless battles with the metro.

“I applied for and received two skips from the metro 10 years ago,” he explained.

“At the beginning of this year, I realised that the one skip was not used and that I was, therefore, no longer in need of two, and that I had to arrange for one to be collected.

“I went to the metro offices three months ago, but, after five visits and two letters that I, personally, delivered to the offices, on request, the skip remained uncollected.

“I have been sent from pillar to post without any progress and, all the while, I have been paying for the skip that was not in use.

The GCN sent a query to the metro regarding the delay in the collection of the container.

“The matter has been attended to, except that the charges have not been amended as advised,” said the metro’s spokesman, Themba Gadebe.

“The complex has two containers and they are paying for 19 units.

“One container has been removed as the complainant requested in writing, but the charge has not been amended as was also requested from the finance department.”

Le Roux confirmed that one of the skips was collected.

“They did come and collect it; I am grateful that it finally happened,” he said.

“I was just disappointed at how long it took to have it removed; I honestly think this matter could have been resolved in less than three months.”
