The Primrose police recently arrested 34 suspects for various crimes in the area, from August 15 to 21.
Crimes included:
- Â Driving under the influence of alcohol: 8
- Â Assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 4
- Â Common assault: 2
- Â Business robbery: 1
- Â Rape: 1
- Shoplifting: 1
- Culpable homicide: 1
- Selling liquor without a licence: 3
- Housebreaking and theft: 1
- Possession of a stolen motor vehicle: 1
- Possession of drugs: 2
- Illegal immigrants: 6
The Primrose SAPS station commander, Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo, thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.
Most of the suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
The illegal immigrants will be sent to Lindela, for deportation.
