Carnival City undergoes a facelift

Big changes taking place at Carnival City.

Refurbishments at Sun International’s colourful Carnival City are well underway, with various aspects of the complex to be refreshed over the next year.

As part of the first phase of the refurbishment, the characteristic walkway is being remodelled and new restaurants will soon be opening to ensure a more diverse offering.

“Carnival City is entering a new era and we are excited about the transformation taking place.

“Visitors can look forward to more fantastic choices and cosmopolitan experiences,” said Carnival City’s general manager, Annemie Turk.

An exciting, grassed children’s outdoor play area with modern climbing frames will be complete by the end of September.

Replacing the miniature golf course in the theme park, the playground is a welcome diversion for young visitors.

Inside, the upgrade of the complex’s food and beverage offering has commenced.

Food explorers can look forward to the opening of an upmarket steak house, Harvest Grill and Wine, on 1 September 2015.

Lotta Foods has closed to make way for two new family-style eateries, Spur and Panarottis Pizza Pasta, also to be unveiled in September.

Early in September, the smoking casino will also be upgraded.

A part of the area will be closed to allow for renovations.

“The project will be implemented in stages to minimise disruption for guests,” added Turk.
