No load shedding planned for today

No load shedding today, however, planned power interruption will take effect in various parts of Germiston.

After several days without load shedding Eskom has announced the power system remains stable, enabling Eskom to continue to perform maintenance.

“The risk of load shedding remains during the evening peak period (5pm – 9pm) when the demand for electricity increases.

“However, we will inform customers should the possibility of load shedding intensify,” said the company in a statement release this morning.

Eskom has been able to perform maintenance without load shedding for four consecutive days.

This is in line with the company’s position to only resort to rotational load shedding in order to protect the power system and also to create space for critical maintenance.

Eskom’s aim is to meet the country’s electricity needs and maintain its power generating units with minimal or no load shedding.

Eskom will provide regular updates on the status of the power system through all the media platforms.
