Armed robbers steal items worth R15 000

Wadeville armed robbery suspects still at large.

The Elsburg SAPS are investigating a case of armed robbery after a recent incident in Wadeville.

It is alleged that the complainant stopped his Toyota Hilux bakkie in Osborn Road, Wadeville, as he was coming to the assistance of his colleague who was driving a company truck which had broken down.

“When he stopped next to the truck in Osborn Road, two unknown males approached him, armed with a revolver and demanded the bakkie keys,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.

“They then searched the bakkie for tracker devices.

“They took two cellphones, a gold necklace (chain) and tools all valued R15 000.”

The complainant’s colleague, who had been driving the broken down truck, fled the scene and managed to spot an EMPD vehicle.

He reported the robbery to them and they responded to the scene.

The armed robbers quickly fled in a red Uno.

They did not take the complainant’s bakkie.

No arrests have been made as yet.
