Man robbed on evening walk

Victim of robbery chases after attackers.

The victim of a recent robbery, in Stanley Road, assisted the Primrose police in the arrest of one of his attackers.

“The victim explained that he had been on an evening walk when he was attacked by two men,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

“The man was knocked to the ground during the attack and, when he recovered, he discovered his wallet, cellphone and bank card were missing.”

The man chased after his attackers and was able to apprehended one of them.

The 27-year-old man was handed over to officers, who had been called to the scene.

He was charged with common robbery and appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.

“The Primrose police are appealing to the community not to walk alone at night,” said Maome.
