Cable theft leaves areas in the dark

The power outage in parts of the city on Friday was due to cable theft.

The metro told the GCN that a cable feeder was stolen on Friday morning which resulted in Tunney, Highway Gardens, Klopper Park and the Meadowdale industrial area being left without power.

Ekurhuleni technicians worked tirelessly on the problem and power was eventually restored after many hours.

The metro apologised for any inconvenience caused.
