Bikes galore at the annual 1 000 Bike Show

Annual 1000 Bike Show hits Germiston.

The 30th annual 1 000 Bike Show took place last weekend, at Germiston High School.

The event, hosted by the Classic Motorcycle Club, has grown from humble beginnings as a small display in the Carlton Centre’s Centre Court, in 1985, to what is now the largest dedicated motorcycle show in Africa.

The show, a hit with bike enthusiasts, saw classic motorcycles from 1907 to 1985, as well as modern bikes on display.

Bike brands included Ariel, BSA, Norton and Triumph, BMW, Laverda, Moto Guzzi, Kreidler and Zundapps.
