Patrollers help man found on side of the road

CPF lends a hand to man.

While Lambton Klip Sector Four CPF patrollers were recently out on patrol, at 6pm, they noticed a VW Citi Golf parked on the pavement in South Rand Road.

“Upon closer investigation they discovered a man lying across the front seats of the vehicle and the car keys lying on the grass a few metres from the vehicle,” said Pine Pienaar, vice-chairman of the Lambton Klip Sector Four CPF (LKCPF).

“They also noticed some expensive sporting equipment on the back seat of the vehicle.”

With the help of an Amour Tactical armed response officer they checked the man but could not see any injuries, however he was allegedly slurring and spoke with difficulty.

“An ambulance was called and upon arrival the paramedics found that the man was a diabetic,” said Pienaar.

“He was rushed to the Bertha Gxowa Hospital and, after some intervention from the LKCPF patrollers, he was attended to.

“He was treated then, but, before the intervention of the patrollers, he was laid down on the floor as there was no bed available.

“This person was in bad shape and with the poor and slow response from the staff on duty he could have had serious problems.”

The patrollers who followed the ambulance to the hospital and waited for the person to be helped thank the night shift supervisor of Rait Security for all the assistance given, to have the man’s car parked in a safe place.
