Three found in possession of drugs

Three men arrested for drug possession in Rietfontein Road.

Rietfontein Road in Primrose has been identified as a drug hotspot by Primrose police.

“This area was once again proven to be a drug hotspot when three men, aged between 34 and 49 years old, were recently arrested for drug possession,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

The men were arrested in two separate incidents at the corner of Rietfontein and Thistle roads.

Officers from the EMPD made the first arrest, after receiving information from a local resident.

“Officers went to the address provided, where they found a man fitting the description given by the resident,” Maome said.

Officers searched the man and found a plastic packet in his pocket, containing a white substance believed to be drugs.

Another two men were arrested by Primrose police at the same address, only hours later.

“Undercover officers were called to the address to investigate two men reportedly acting strangely,” Maome said.

Upon arrival on the scene, officers searched the two men and found a plastic bag containing a white substance and a second packet containing dagga.

All three men were detained at the Primrose Police Station, pending their appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.

The suspects’ cases have since been postponed for trial.
