Members of the Germiston EMPD Crime Prevention Unit swooped on an alleged drug den in Edenvale. Working on a tip-off from a reliable source, the officers arrested three alleged drug dealers who were found selling the drug Kat at an internet café. The arrests took place at 2pm and Kat worth approximately R2 000 was confiscated from the trio.

Heini Witthoft, who was attacked in his Primrose home last year, has passed away. Heini passed away on June 9. The GCN told the story of how Heini (then 78) and his wife Kitta (then 73) were attacked in their home by two thugs on March 14 (GCN April 25, 2014).

In order to make way for planned maintenance work, there was a planned water supply interruption which affected certain areas in Germiston on Saturday, June 20, from 8am to 5pm.

The Din-Al-View CPF is warning residents in Dinwiddie, Albemarle, Castleview, Union and Norton Small Farms that crime has increased drastically in their community. The CPF has stated that people need to be aware of their local surroundings, the movement of cars and the movement of pedestrians in their neighbourhood.
