Children help keep others warm

Sharing some warmth this winter.

Children from Duck Tails Nursery School, with the support of their parents, recently collected blankets for the needy.

These were handed over to Barbara Bouwer, the director of Germiston Child Welfare, just in time for the cold front which has moved in on us.

Every quarter, the children and parents of Duck Tails identify a need and do their part in collecting or sharing.

This time round, the need for blankets as winter sets in was identified.

Germiston Child Welfare often has children who find themselves in vulnerable situations, mothers with limited means of providing for their children and also abandoned babies or children that need to be placed in temporary safe care.

“These blankets will be handed out to those identified families and children who are finding it hard to meet their most basic needs, including the need to stay warm and protected,” said Bouwer.

“We thank all the children and parents of Duck Tails Nursery School for their caring hearts and for reaching out to help many different charitable organisations, who in turn help those less fortunate and vulnerable.”
