Get creative with the Animal Anti-Cruelty League

The annual Animal Anti-Cruelty League poster competition is back.

The Animal Anti-Cruelty League’s (AACL) annual school poster competition is back.

This year Animaltalk is a sponsor of the competition, which is an educational campaign to promote animal welfare through the medium of art.

To enter, children have to create posters in which people show compassion and kindness to animals, care for and show how humans can affect animals lives in a positive way.

Children who wish to enter the competition must remember that the poster must not just be a pretty picture, but a picture with a message.

A slogan or title may also contribute towards making the message clear.

There is no limit to the number of times a child can enter; all that is requested is that a donation is made to the AACL with each entry.

All donations will be used by the league in caring for and protecting animals.

Children may use any medium, for example, paint, pastel, ink, crayon, etc., to create their bold, striking and original A2 or A3 sized poster.

Entrants must remember to write their name, surname, age, grade, the category they wish to enter and their school’s name and email address on the back of their posters.

The finalists’ posters will be displayed on the AACL Facebook page, where the prize winners will also be announced.

Posters can be posted to the AACL at PO Box 7, Rosettenville, 2130, or dropped off at the AACL’s offices at 59 Alice Street, Regents Park, Johannesburg.

The closing date for the competition is October 31. For more information call 011 435-0672.
