Kagiso Mokwena has been found

Woman charged with Mokwena’s kidnapping, but later released.

Katlehong Police have confirmed this morning that Kagiso Mokwena, the six-year-old boy who went missing, in Katlehong, on January 9, has been found.

“The boy was found in Katlehong on June 1,” Said Capt Mega Ndobe, communications officer for the Katlehong police.

It was alleged the boy went missing when an unknown woman called him by his name in the park where he was playing with friends.

She offered to buy the children lollipops.

The woman gave the children money and then led Mokwena down the road.

A 28-year-old woman was arrested on the same day and charged with Mokwena’s kidnapping.

The woman appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court, where she was released due to technicalities.

However, Capt Ndobe has confirmed to the GCN that the woman may be charged again following an investigation by the Katlehong police.

The GCN will continue to follow up on this case and release more information as it becomes available.
