A quiet night at home ended in assault when a woman questioned her boyfriend about his ex-girlfriend.
“The victim claimed she was at her home in Pretoria Road, Primrose, when she asked her boyfriend why he had given her phone number to his ex-girlfriend,” explained the communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.
It is alleged an argument erupted between the couple and soon the man’s friend joined the argument.
“The woman claims both men assaulted her,” Maome said.
Officers were able to trace the woman’s 35-year-old boyfriend using the description she gave.
He was arrested and charged with domestic violence.
“The other man remains at large.
“Officers continue to follow leads, which they hope will lead to his arrest,” said Maome.
The victim’s boyfriend has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where the case was postponed for plea and trial.
