Men assault man after alleged theft

Men arrested after mob justice incident.

An alleged victim of recent mob justice has come forward and identified his attackers to the Primrose police.

The man claimed that he was in the Makause informal settlement when he was attacked by four men.

During questioning, the men explained that they had attacked the man after he broken into their shack and stolen a car battery.

Police arrested all four suspects and charged them with assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

“We are appealing to our community not to take the law into their own hands, they must report any criminal activity to the police,” urged Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The men will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
