Man arrested for girlfriend’s assault

Man assaults girlfriend in Marathon informal settlement.

Members of the Primrose police recently arrested a 30-year-old man on charges of domestic violence.

The arrest was made in the Marathon informal settlement, after the victim of the assault opened a case at the Primrose Police Station.

The woman explained that her boyfriend had come to her home and, when she asked him to leave, he became angry and assaulted her.

Using the description given by the girlfriend, officers were able to trace the man and he was arrested.

The accused later appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court where his case was postponed for trial.
