No planned load shedding today

Eskom is currently able to keep up with electricity demand, despite cold weather.

As reported earlier this week, Eskom remains confident that the company will be able to keep up with electricity demands as temperatures drop.

But the company has asked consumers to consider energy efficient ways of keeping warm.

There is currently no planned load shedding as Eskom has enough generating capacity to meet the demand in electricity.

The company, however, urges all customers to continue using electricity sparingly at all times to enable the technicians to carry out the requisite maintenance of our power generating units

Commercial customers, particularly shopping centres and office blocks, can also make a big difference by switching off non-essential lights and not leaving office equipment such as photocopiers and computers in standby mode after hours.

Eskom will continue to provide regular updates on the status of the power system through all the media platforms.
