Members of the Benoni K9 Unit recently arrested a 28-year-old man for possession of drugs.

The arrest was made in Violet Road, Primrose, during a patrol of the Primrose area.

“Officers noticed a man acting suspiciously and approached him,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

They stopped him and, during a search, found a small plastic bag containing drugs in his front right pocket.

The man was arrested and handed over to the Primrose police, who formally charged him with possession of drugs.

The accused appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where the case was postponed for trial.
