Technicians working to restore power to parts of Germiston
Metro busy working on the power problem.
The metro is aware of the power supply interruption affecting parts of Germiston and surrounding areas due to a power failure at the Elsburg and James Bright substations.
Technicians are currently on site investigating the cause at the Elsburg substation while another team is working around the clock at the James Bright substation to restore power to the affected areas.
The affected areas supplied by Elsburg substation are: Elsburg Extension One; Delville proper; Delville Extensions One, Two, Three, Four and Five; Germiston South; Parkhill Gardens; Tedstoneville proper and Tedstoneville Extension.
The affected areas supplied by James Bright substation are: Germiston Extensions Two and Four; Heriotdale Extension Three and Four; Jupiter Extension Three; Simmerfield; Germiston South Extensions Two, Four, Five, 12, 20 and 28.
The metro apologises for any inconvenience caused and assures its customers that work will continue until power is restored to all affected areas.
Customers are reminded to treat the electrical network and appliances as electrically live at all times.
