The Elsburg SAPS is warning the community to be alert at all times as criminals are currently using the following modus operandi: “The suspects appear to be asking for a lift (hitchhiking), or asking for transport to take items to a certain place. If you stop, they then hold you at knife/gunpoint and rob you,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.

Two men, aged 20 and 40 years, were recently arrested by members of the Germiston Flying Squad. The men were formally charged with the possession of drugs, as well as attempting to bribe an officer. The arrest was made when the men attempted to bribe the officers to avoid being arrested for drug possession.

The Primrose Police recently arrested a 22-year-old man. The man, who was arrested in Primrose, was charged with the rape of a woman in Bezuidenhout Valley, Johannesburg.

Residents were warned about a scheduled water supply interruption which will be implemented on Wednesday, May 27, from 8am to 4pm.
