African Grey parrot Godliep went missing from his First Avenue, Wannenburghoogte, Primrose home, on Saturday.
He is about a year old and has a few missing feathers around his neck as they irritate him and he pulls them out.
Godliep is very tame.
Kathy Glaus was busy with him and one of the contractors working at the house dropped something and frightened him, resulting in him flying away.
The family is desperate to find their missing pet.
