EMPD make drug bust after tip-off

Two men arrested after anonymous tip-off.

Two men were recently arrested by members of the EMPD and charged with dealing in drugs.

The arrests were made at Maguerete Lake Place, in Primrose.

Officers received information that two men, aged 24 and 31, were selling drugs from the location.

After staking-out the building, officers decided to search the premises, and found four plastic packets containing what officers believed to be drugs.

Both suspects were arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station where they were formally charged.

“We salute the EMPD officers for helping us in our mission to prevent crime in our area,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

Both men have since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their cases were postponed.
