Residents share memorable last DC-3 flights

One of the history books.

Many people joined in on the last scenic flights on the Douglas DC-3, on Saturday, April 25.

This was the public’s last chance to have a flight in the DC-3 before the aircraft heads to its new home in Trier, Germany.

The 20-minute scenic flight departed from Hangar five at Rand Airport, and headed in a westerly direction, passing to the south of the Johannesburg CBD before landing back at Rand Airport.

This memorable occasion was enjoyed by young and old.
