Woman beats victim with a stick

Woman beaten and threatened in her own home.

A 42-year-old woman was recently arrested by the Primrose police for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and malicious damage to property.

The arrest was made after the victim opened a case with the Primrose police, alleging that she was beaten and threatened by the accused.

She explained to officers she had been at home bathing when she heard a knock on the door.

She opened the door ajar, so she was able to see who was there.

It was then that the accused allegedly pushed open the door, damaging the locking system, and without a word began beating the victim with a wooden stick.

“The victim sustained injuries to her face,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Before leaving the victim, the accused threatened her with a sharp object.

Using the description given by the victim, officers were able to trace and arrest the woman.

“We are appealing to our community to seek professional help when they have problems and not take the law into their own hands,” added Maome.

The suspect appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where the matter was postponed for plea and trial.
