EMPD officers raid flats, seize drugs

Early morning raid leads to arrests and confiscation of drugs.

In a joint operation conducted by the EMPD Germiston Crime Prevention Unit and the K9 Unit, drugs valued at R8 000 were seized and four Nigerian nationals arrested, at around 4am, on Monday.

After receiving information from concerned Primrose residents, metro police swooped on Lake Place flats, situated in Marguerite Street, and found two of the suspects in possession of 17 packets of crystal meth and ten of the drug Kat.

The other two men were found to be undocumented and thus suspected of being in the country illegally.

Charges of possession of and dealing in illicit substances were registered at the Germiston Police Station against the two suspects, while the other two face the prospect of being deported.

Their ages range between 24 and 41 years old.

All four suspects are expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
