A fond farewell

Local couple says bon voyage.

The Lambton Klip Sector Four CPF committee, and community members, recently bid farewell to the previous vice-chairman, Roger Jones, and his wife Glynis.

The couple were instrumental in establishing the CPF and helping to build it up to the success it has become today.

“They were one of the first households which helped to get the sector started up and actively assisted in the combating of crime in the area,” said Renee Germishuizen, the chairman of the Lambton Klip Sector Four CPF.

The Jones’s joined the CPF eight years ago and made a difference in the community.

“They soon became a household name in the area.

“They successfully set an example that being on pension does not classify you as old.”

The couple was commended for going out on patrols at all hours, helping with radio controlling and roll calling, awareness campaigns and much more.

“They were always there to do whatever was needed to get things done.

“They are a very special couple who set an example for many in our community, and were always up for a challenge and to keep a watchful eye,” Germishuizen said.

“As a community we will miss them greatly and will cherish the fond memories we shared.

“We wish them and their family all the best in pursuing their next adventure in England.”
