Road closures for State of the City Address

These roads will be closed for the State of the City Address.

Ekurhuleni’s executive mayor, Clr Mondli Gungubele, is expected to tell the people of Ekurhuleni and the rest of Gauteng, how the city has performed on its mandate since 2011, when he delivers the State of the City Address in the Germiston CBD, on Wednesday (March 25).

Gungubele will not only outline the metro’s Programme of Action (PoA), but will also reflect on major achievements realised during the past four years, especially in the areas of poverty, job creation, inequality, the aerotropolis, infrastructure development and basic services such as water, sanitation and energy among others.

“The Mayor will deliver a report that will talk to all our people.

“It will speak to business people, the middle class, high class, informal settlement dwellers, the young and the old.

“There will also be a strong element of economics because we remain determined to revive our manufacturing sector and expose new opportunities that come with our economic growth trajectory – the aerotropolis,” explained mayoral spokesman Zweli Dlamini.

Due to activities related to the State of the City Address, there will be a number of road closures in the Germiston CBD.

The road closures will be in effect on March 24 (today), from 8am to 2pm, for rehearsal purposes and on the day of the event roads will be closed from 6am to 6pm.
