Housebreaker arrested in Makause

Man robbed by his friend.

A 19-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose police for housebreaking and theft.

The arrest was made after the victim of the crime laid a formal charge against the accused at the Primrose Police Station.

The victim told officer he had returned to his shack in the Makause informal settlement and discovered one of his windows had been broken.

Moments later his friend climbed out of the broken window, saw the victim and ran away.

“The victim reported that two USBs and cash were missing from his shack,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Using the description of the accused given by the victim, officers were able to trace him and he was arrested.

The man later appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court where his case, was postponed for plea and trial.
