Stolen car found in garden

Man’s car stolen from outside brother’s home.

Members of the Primrose police recently arrested a 59-year-old man.

He has been charged with the theft of a motor vehicle, following the discovery of a stolen car in his garden.

The car was reported stolen on February 18, when the owner came to the Primrose Police Station, alleging that he had parked the car outside his brother’s home in Second Street, in Marlands.

“He had left the car there for several days and then received a call from his brother, to say it had vanished,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Officers were able to trace the vehicle to the suspect’s home, where it was found in the garden.

The officers asked the accused from where he had obtained the car and he could not give a clear explanation.

He was arrested and detained at Primrose Police Station, until he appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for trial.
