A 37-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose Police following the assault of his girlfriend.
The arrest was made when the victim opened a formal case against her boyfriend.
“She explained that the two had an argument, which began when he questioned why she was sleeping in pyjamas,” explained the communications officer for the Primrose Police, Sgt Styles Maome.
The victim claims that the accused began to swear at her before he assaulted her.
The man was arrested and charged with domestic violence.
He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court where his case was postponed for trial.
“As police we condemn such barbaric behaviour. There are ways of dealing with conflicts in a relationship without fighting,” said Sgt Maome.
