Men nabbed on suspicion of attempting to steal a car

Would-be car thieves nabbed by the Germiston SAPS.

Acting on a tip-off that two men were trying to steal a car in Victoria Street, in the Germiston CBD, on Wednesday, the Germiston police acted swiftly.

They rushed to the scene where, noticing the police van, the suspects started to run away.

The officers gave chase and apprehended the men.

They were searched and officers found two Allen keys, which are often used to steal cars, and a remote.

The implements found in the men’s possession.

The remote is used to deactivate your car’s immobiliser when you lock the vehicle.

The suspects were arrested and detained at the Germiston Police Station.

The matter is currently under investigation.
