Men nabbed for alleged business robbery

Two arrested after breaking into shop.

While police officers from the Germiston SAPS were out patrolling on Thursday they received a complaint of a business robbery in progress in Webber Road.

They rushed to the scene where they found suspects in one of the shops.

“One of the suspects saw the police approaching from a distance and started to run away,” said Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS.

“The police gave chase but the suspect disappeared between two blocks of flats.”

The officers returned to the fruit shop where the break-in had occurred and found two men still inside the shop.

They were arrested.

“The suspects gained entry to the shop through the roof,” Raphulu said.

“The men aged between 25 and 30 years old were detained at the Germiston Police Station.

“The matter is currently under police investigation.”
