Police nab man for possession of drugs

Man arrested after going into a toilet to take drugs.

The Primrose police recently arrested a 32-year-old man for being in possession of drugs.

The incident happened at a pharmacy in Rietfontein Road.

The complainant alleged that he was in the pharmacy when the suspect entered and bought needles and syringes.

“It is alleged that the accused then proceeded to the toilets where he locked himself in,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose Police.

“Customers in the shop wanted to use the toilets and found them locked.

“They reported this to the complainant who was in the shop and the complainant forced open the door of the toilets and the accused was found busy injecting himself with Pethidine HCI-Fresenius.”

The man was arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station.

He appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court and his case was postponed for plea and trial.
