A happy return for Mia

Local business happy at the return of their cat.

If you visit Plant Ranch Germiston, you will find that it is more than just another nursery.

It is home to Mia — a tenacious, four-legged feline, who has crept into the hearts of the staff and patrons alike.

“Unfortunately there are people in this world with little or no regard for the wellbeing of other living creatures,” said Morag Goddard from Plant Ranch Germiston.

“Recently we were devastated when someone came into the nursery and left, not only with their plants, but with our little Mia as well.”

“We tried to chase the man down, but we lost him in traffic.

“However, because of the attentiveness of our staff we had a lead as to where this man lived.

“We set off to conduct our own investigation and after trawling the neighbourhood we eventually spotted a house, with very recognisable Plant Ranch wrapped plants in the front garden.

“A perfect clue.”

Mia loves to play at the nursery.

Goddard added that a reluctant neighbour confirmed that she had seen Mia with the people, who had claimed that they had “bought” her.

“But our Mia was nowhere to be seen.

“Our entire team was fraught with worry, imagining our kitten lost and alone.”

Goddard told the GCN three long days later, they received a call from the reticent neighbour saying some children had found Mia under a nearby tree.

“We are all extremely happy to have the smallest member of our Plant Ranch family back where she belongs.

“Mia has had enough adventure, and is happily back in our lives chasing lizards and lounging in sunny spots,” said Goddard.
