Police arrest man for housebreaking and theft

Man’s shack robbed after he refuses to give his girlfriend money.

A 33-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose SAPS for housebreaking and theft.

The incident occurred in the Marathon informal settlement.

The complainant alleged that his girlfriend visited him to ask for money but he did not give her any as he didn’t have any money on him.

“Before she left the shack she told the complainant that she was going to burn it,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“That day the complainant left his shack for few hours and when he came back he noticed that his shack had been broken into.”

A home theatre system, a TV, a microwave and a bag containing various items were missing.

The value of the stolen items is R7 000.

The complainant pointed out a suspect to the Primrose police and they arrested and detained the man at the Primrose Police Station.

He is due to appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.

The police are currently tracing the complainant’s girlfriend who is also wanted for questioning.
