Seven arrested by Primrose police

Seven arrested for selling/dealing in liquor without a licence.

Seven suspects were recently arrested by the Primrose police.

The accused, aged between 27 and 44, were all charged with selling/dealing in liquor without a licence, in both the Marathon and Makause informal settlements.

The arrests were made through a police operation held in each of the informal settlements.

The officers approached several places, where they observed community members buying liquor, and asked the owners for their licences.

When the owners were unable to produce a licence they were arrested.

All the suspects were detained at the Primrose Police Station, pending their appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.

After appearing, six of the accused were released after paying an admission of guilt fine, while the seventh case was postponed for trial.
