A man was arrested recently for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in Elsburg.
The victim claimed that she was on her way home from the shops at about 6.15pm and was walking with her sisters.
When they reached an open veld, near Steven Street, they noticed that an unknown man was following them.
The man grabbed the complainant and touched her private parts.
He then demanded the women’s cellphones, but they told him they didn’t have any.
The women managed to escape from the man and went to get help.
He was arrested by the Elsburg SAPS on the same day and detained at the Elsburg Police Station, pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court, on a charge of sexual assault.
