A 43-year-old woman was recently arrested by the Primrose police and charged with shoplifting.
The theft is reported to have taken place at a large retail store in Rietfontein Road and was reported to the police by the store’s owner.
When officers arrived at the scene the woman was handed over to them by the store’s security guard, who claimed that he had watched the accused enter the shop and noticed her slipping items under her jacket.
She did not notice the guard watching her and made her way to the exit, where he detained her.
The woman was taken to the Primrose Police Station following her arrest.
It was there, during the booking process, that officers discovered that the suspect is wanted by three different police stations for different cases.
She is wanted by the Heidelberg SAPS for shoplifting, Vulindlela police for theft and the Butterworth SAPS for possession of stolen property.
The woman will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court before being handed over to the other police stations.
