Join the fight against crime

Calling all Primrose Sector Three residents to help lessen crime in the area.

The Primrose Sector Three Crime Forum will holding a sector election, next year, on February 9.

The Primrose Sector Three committee, which was set-up in mid-2013, has done a lot and the committee is looking forward to the community’s participation, a strengthening of crime combating efforts and a renewed relationship with the SAPS.

“On the cards for 2015 is a new Neighbourhood Watch (already effective in Sector Two) and projects to bring the community together, such as Know Your Neighbours projects, as well as additional efforts to eradicate the worst elements and criminals who live among us,” said Max Katz, chairman of Primrose Sector Three.

“We will try to bring groups together and make it a community effort, so that the community will stand together to take back our streets with the help of the SAPS, metro, CPF and its substructures, as well as the Gauteng Department of Community Safety.”

Katz is calling on volunteers to join in the leadership of the CPF substructure, known as the Sector Three Crime Forum.

Sector Three stretches from Shoprite in Primrose, above Rietfontein Road, to Primrose High, where it goes down to Main Reef Road and all the way to the end of Malvern East.

If you fall into this area and would like to join the forum contact Katz on max@telkomsa.net, or Sgt Styles Maome, from the Primrose SAPS Social Development Unit, on 011 842-0522.

“We really need to boost crime-fighting in our sector,” said Katz.
