Family hijacked in Gerdview

Family hijacked in Gerdview outside their home.

The Primrose police are appealing to members of community to help them trace suspects wanted in connection with a hijacking.

The incident took place in Amsterdam Road in Gerdview on Wednesday.

“The complainant, his brother and other family members were in the vehicle and it was parked outside the gate of his brother’s house when a white VW Golf 4 stopped behind them.

“Two males, both armed with firearms, approached them and pointed their guns at them before ordering them to get out of the vehicle,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose SAPS.

“The victim asked the hijackers to allow them to get his children and mother out of the vehicle.

“The suspects pushed them out, fired two shots and drove the victim’s car away.”

Inside the vehicle there was 9mm pistol and other belongings.

No one was injured during the hijacking and anyone with information is asked to contact the Primrose police on 011 842-0500 or the Primrose Detective Branch on 011 776-1600.
