An EMPD officer has been arrested in Primrose, this afternoon (Friday).
It is alleged that the man was arrested after an investigation revealed that he had joined the EMPD under false pretenses.
“The initial investigation revealed that the man had done a number of illegal things in order to join the force,” explained Wilfred Kgasago, spokesman for the EMPD.
“He has been part of the force for the past seven years and in that time he has also committed a number of crimes.”
The officer was arrested at his residence in Rietfontein Road, Primrose.
Until his arrest he was a member of the Loss Control Investigations Unit, base Ekurhuleni-wide.
